After what seems to have been the shortest summer ever, it’s now time to start preparing your gardens and outdoor spaces for the next seasons ahead.

There are many tasks and jobs that you can do to protect your plants and give them the best chance of survival through Winter, so they can then thrive when we welcome the sunshine again in spring.

In this talk, John will discuss…

How and what to lift, divide, and bring indoors; for plants that may not survive the cooler elements.
How to cut back, and which plants need cutting back.
How to prepare your soil, beds, containers and borders for the frosts and harsher weather that’s ahead.
What’s good to plant now, for all-year interest; touching on planning and planting schemes.
Planting hedging, bare root trees, and fruit trees.
How to protect certain plants or trees.
How to give your winter garden colour and interest, with particular plants, shrubs or tricks.
How to use props like lights and firepits to illuminate your space, so you can still enjoy your space in the darker evenings of the season.

The aim of this talk is to provide you with enough information and experience from expert plantsman, John, that will ensure you’ll be able to enjoy your garden through these colder months ahead, as well as preparing for a super successful Spring.
