We offer a variety of all things plants, an on-site café, alongside a plethora of unique visitor experiences including artisan markets, gardening workshops, expert-led talks, and seasonal events. We pride ourselves on fostering creativity & sustainability, championing local talent and producers, and inspiring a love for gardening, in an inviting and beautiful environment. We’re looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of our events.

Position Overview: As a Part-Time Events Assistant, you will play a key role in securing new business and brainstorming new event ideas. You’ll also oversee the smooth operation of our current events, from artisan markets and workshops to gardening talks and more. This is a hands-on, dynamic role that requires excellent organizational and communication skills, a passion for creating memorable experiences, and a love for nature. You’ll work closely with our team to help bring our events to life in a picturesque and welcoming garden setting. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, with a friendly and approachable energy, who can really take the role to new heights, and increase our footfall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the set-up, breakdown, and coordination of events, ensuring everything runs smoothly before, during, and after.

  • Seek out new event opportunities and be the first point of contact for stallholders, speakers, workshop leaders, and more.

  • Help manage attendee lists, materials for workshops, talks, and market setups.

  • Assist & provide the Marketing Manager with information that helps to promote events on social media and on-site / off-site marketing channels.

  • Ensure all event spaces are well-maintained, clean, and properly prepared.

  • Assist the accounts department with the management of events invoicing.

  • Collaborate creatively with the Marketing Manager and wider Nursery team to generate our own on-site events, that are in line with our ethos.

  • Comfortable working in a garden setting and ready to assist in other teams if and when needed. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in gardening, events, and bringing people together locally.

  • Previous experience in event coordination or customer service is a plus.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team and / or independently.

  • Friendly, approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills, over the telephone and via emails.

  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends, based on the event schedule.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, and basic computer literacy skills.

  • Part-Time / Flexible Hours - Starting at 2 days per week, which may extend. Ordinarily 9.30 am-3 pm (School hours). Alternatives can be discussed at the interview stage.
